Installing the new motor in an existing shade
The existing roller shade that this motor is designed to lift has a mechanical limiter on the side opposite the motor called the "Idler End". Do not remove this limit assembly! The limits are pre-set at the factory. The easyiest way to recalibrate the limit assembly is to remove the old motor from the roller tube. Insert the Idler End side into the bracket and hand roll the shade up by hand until the top limit is reached and the shade will no longer roll up. You might have to repeat this procedure until the top limit is reached and the shade is rolled all the way up on the tube.
Once the fabric is rolled all the way onto the shade tube, Insert the new motor into the tube and install the shade in the brackets positioning the shade so it is still rolled all the way up. Power up the motor, wait a few seconds and then press and hold the programming button on the motor head for about 6-7 seconds and release the button once the motor starts to move. Let the motor move up and down to find its travel limits. This calibration routine might take a minute or two to complete. Do not interupt this procedure! Once the travel limits are set, the shade is ready to be added to the Pebble Remote and PowerView Hub (if there is one).
Motor Programming Considerations
If replacing an existing motor with a new motor then the new motor will have to be paired with an existing Pebble Remote and Hub. Download the programming instructions below. If the old motor was part of a Scene then the Old Motor will need to be deleted from that scene and the NEW Motor will need to be added to that scene. If the Hub is integrated with an existing Automation controller such as a Control 4 controller, the Control 4 programmer will have to discover the new replacement motor with Control 4 software. Each motor in a PowerView Network has a unique motor address.
